About James Treble
James is a Sydney based Interior Designer, TV Presenter and writer, who loves to share his passion for houses, colour, good design and recycling. He has worked with some of the largest and most experienced builders in the country and he combines his years of experience as well as his design and building knowledge, to assist and guide his clients in maximising their real estate investments potential, as well as creating beautiful homes.
James is currently a presenter on the lifestyle TV show Open Homes Australia and the host of the newly launched TV show Renovate Or Rebuild, both for the Australian 9 Network.
James was with the team of Network TEN's The Living Room from season one to seven (2012-18) as the resident Interior Designer, which has provided him with a platform to design under tighter budgets and time frames, as well as indulging his passion for reusing and repurposing old and existing pieces of furniture to create new, beautiful, yet functional living spaces. "I love to see the potential in things others discard! Everything old, can be new again" says James.
From 2017 to 2019, next to Sophie Hull, James co-hosted Your Money - Auction Day, formerly Sky News Real Estate show, with 6 hours of live television about market news, live auctions, property improvement and much more. The show was LIVE every Saturday from 8:30am AEST on both free-to-air and Foxtel until the channel ended its broadcasting in May 2019.
James was asked to join the talented team of high profile experts in 2014, for the launch of Bauers Media's magazine HOMES+, offering readers affordable all-Aussie style as a resident Interior Design expert until 2017, when he moved with Inside Out Magazine sharing his knowledge with advice to Real-Life people's homes.
Since February 2015, James has been an Ambassador for Planet Ark, Australia's leading not-for-profit environmental organisation, joining their hard working and passionate team promoting sustainability and positive environmental actions, through such events as "National Recycling Week" and "National Tree Day".
In 2021 James was awarded the NSW Fellowship from the Design Institute of Australia for his contribution to the Design Industry and the continuous support and education of new Interior Designers. A proficient public speaker and events MC, James regularly hosts public events and shares his experience in workshops with various Australian design schools.
Through blogs and social media channels James continuously shares his accumulated experience for all to learn about his professional practice and the practical aspects of Interior Design, and from 2021 his accumulated experience is also available through the successful Practical Design Online learning material.
Whilst filming the renovation of his own property, James produces his very first informative show James Bought a House, streaming online from October 2023.
