An MBA Award Winning Home

The Master Builders Awards is one of the most sought after recognitions of the Australian Building Industry, and on Saturday the 7th of September 2019, hundreds of people gathered in evening attire at The Star in Sydney for the announcement of the NSW winners. Besides the good food and copious drinks, the evening is the perfect event to catch up with industry peers and show appreciation for the quality displayed by the finalist homes. One of the awards, the Excellence Award for a Display Home, went to Eden Brae Homes for their Newington 22 Mk2 one of their latest home designs, which is especially exciting for me as I enjoyed working on this and other homes of theirs as Interior Designer. WOW! I am very proud of having been part of such an achievement and very grateful of course to EBH for trusting my professional guidance and Ideas for their display homes.

Visiting display homes is the best way to understand which house suits you and which builder offers the options and the quality you're looking for. But if you have walked through display homes at least once, you know that feeling you get: which one is the right one for me? You look at the floor plan, the layout and spaciousness, how many bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas... ultimately what works for you and your family's needs. What helps make your mind up should be the quality of the build, the finishes offered and the interior solutions, because as your needs are unique to you, so is the home you ultimately purchase. Like buying a dress or a suit for that very important occasion, achieving the house that satisfies your needs is a challenging quest and one that might require a few 'fittings' and a few adjustments.

The house you are ultimately going to buy is the one that can be tailored to your needs with functionality, clever solutions and the finishes you love. So, with my Interior Design choices, I always aim to offer everyone that enters through the front door of these display homes a modern and attractive look, as well as the welcoming feeling of a real home: Not only does it have to be a great looking home that is contemporary and appeals to a wide range of people, but because this home will be on display for a few years, it also has to date well and be as 'on trend" in the future as it is now! For that reason, as I do with all of my clients' homes no matter how large or small the budget, I add character through contrast & texture in the finishes & materials, and of course the all important kitchen layout and bathroom combinations always take pride of place! It requires lots of time and thought, often with changes along the way, but it's a challenge I love.

I am truly thankful to Eden Brae for entrusting me with my choices in their display homes, I work along side a great team at EB which has resulted in many great homes over the last few years and am once again very proud of having played a part in the achievement of such a distinguished industry award. If you're looking to build a new home, possibly renovating, and wish to get some ideas or you're curious to see this award winning home, I encourage you to walk through the Newington 22 Mk2 in person at Spring Farm Display Village, NSW, where you will also find other homes I've worked on for Eden Brae, as well as in nearby display centres. If you're not in the area, then you can easily visit this home via a 3D virtual tour by clicking HERE. Let me know what you think.
