The choice of cabinetry finish is a very personal one, and a decision worth taking great care, but with so many looks to inspire us, what one can’t judge from online images or on magazines is the tactile quality of the finish. To explore the wide scope of available options, the best way to do this is to visit a kitchen showroom, or a selection centre, where the latest solutions and trends are on show, not only to look at but to touch and play with.
Touch is in fact very important when choosing finishes, of kitchens in particular, as this is such a hands-on room. The cabinetry finish needs to be durable, easy to clean and of course, it must look good. Polytec is one brand that I love to work with because of their great range of colours, finishes and textures, from block colours to life-like timber grains, from super matte to gloss, from smooth to textured... their range is truly vast.
One of my recurring choices for modern kitchens with a contemporary style include the soft to touch Legato range and the highly textural Ravine range, both allowing me to add warmth through the authentic looking grain and tones of wood. Another favourite is the Woodmatt range which is truly convincing because of the tactile surface which beautifully emulates the precious textures of timber.
Polytec also offers an extensive range of elegant colours, from soft off- whites and greys to nature inspired tones, providing you with many options to create both classic as well as modern kitchen designs. Selecting a dark option for an edgy contemporary home allows you to achieve a striking effect, and one finish I love is the Venette range, providing a striking satin fingerprint proof finish which I have used in this award-winning high-end home. Absolutely stunning!
When it comes to block colour choices Polytec has just increased their existing range with brand new additions, providing a mix of muted greys, blues and greens which offer so many design options. Perfectly on trend.
As you search for that unique look for your cabinetry, I strongly encourage you to visit Polytec.com.au to get inspired by the many projects displayed in their galleries. The downloadable brochures are also a great source of inspiration and contain very useful product descriptions and palette suggestions.
